The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the registration window for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR UGC NET) June 2025. Candidates aspiring to qualify for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship/Assistant Professor positions can now apply online through the official website, starting from today, 4 June 2025. The last date to apply or fill out the application form is June 23, 2025. Candidates failing to apply before this date won’t be eligible to appear for the examination.
CSIR NET 2025 Important Dates
The CSIR UGC NET June 2025 exam is scheduled to be conducted on July 26, 27, and 28, 2025, in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam will be held in both English and Hindi, giving the candidates an opportunity to choose their preferred language. Additionally, aspirants will have 180 minutes (3 hours) to complete the test.

CSIR NET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to be eligible to appear for CSIR UGC NET:
Candidates must hold a master’s degree (M.Sc.) or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD).
Age Limit: For JRF, the maximum age limit is 30 years (as of July 1, 2025). Meanwhile, for Lectureship/Assistant Professor, there is no upper age limit.

CSIR NET 2025 Application Fee
The application fee for different castes and categories differs from one another. Note that the application fee is non-refundable and is a crucial step in completing the application process.
CSIR NET 2025 Exam Pattern
The CSIR NET exam consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) divided into three parts:
Part A: General Science (20 MCQs, 15 to be attempted).
Part B: Subject-specific MCQs (40 MCQs, 35 to be attempted).
Part C: Higher-order analytical questions (60 MCQs, 25 to be attempted).
There is negative marking for incorrect answers. For every wrong answer, 0.5 marks will be deducted in Parts A & B, and 0.75 marks in Part C.
