    Hindustan College of Arts and Sciences (HCAS), one of the Hindustan Group of Institutions' units, was founded in 1995 and is connected to the University of Madras, one of the oldest universities in India. The college provides two Ph.D., three M.Phil., seven post-graduate, and seventeen undergraduate research programmes. It is associated with Madras University in Chennai and is placed 30th in India Today 2020's Social Work category.

    The University Grants Commission (UGC) designated the university as a "University with Potential for Excellence," and the National Assessment and recognition Council (NAAC) awarded it "Five Star" recognition. World-famous scientists, mathematicians, industrialists, educators, philanthropists, and others have come from this university.
