Huge news coming in for JEE and IIT aspirants!
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced on July 26 that the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021 will be conducted on October 3, 2021. Scheduled to be conducted earlier on July 3, 2021, it was postponed after the National Testing Agency (NTA) postponed the April and May sessions of the JEE (Main) Examination. Mr. Pradhan also assured everyone that the exam will be held, adhering to all Covid-19 norms.
When we talk about the Joint Entrance Examination, there’s a JEE (Main) that is an exam to qualify for B.E and BTech courses into Top Engineering colleges in Uttar Pradesh and other states across India. On the other hand, the JEE Advanced is given by those seeking admission into the prestigious IITs. Therefore, this year’s exam is being conducted by IIT-Kharagpur.
The exam shall be conducted in 2 shifts; the Morning Shift for Paper-I (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and the Evening Shift for Paper-II (2:30 PM to 5:30 PM). As per reports, candidates who qualified for JEE Advanced 2020 but couldn’t make it due to Covid or related reasons, will be eligible to sit for this exam. Thus, over 2.5 lakh students, who had cleared the JEE Main Examination will sit for the JEE Advanced this year. The number of seats in the IITs, IIITs, NITs, and other centrally-funded institutions shall be decided by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
