    Established in 1948, Lady Doak College (LDC) is the first women's college in Madurai, located in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It bears Helen Doak's name, who was an associate founder. The Hindu, a well-known newspaper, placed the college 81st out of the Top 100 Colleges in Southern India.

    Lady Doak College Facilities

    Hostel

    Admission to the hostel is only good for ONE academic year at a time, and it can only be renewed if the student complies with all requirements set forth by the college and the hostel. Her academic development is also considered. At the start of the academic year, fees will be assessed for the year's establishment and medical services. Only online payments should be made. The first of the academic year is the appropriate time to pay the hostel fees. Three payments will be required for the board: one at the start of the academic year/odd semester, which includes the hostel fees; two at the beginning of September and January; and three at the beginning of the academic year.

    The X. Miller Memorial Library is home to 1,38,814 books, 3828 e-journals, and 106 print journals, newspapers, and periodicals. The library is comprised of twelve departmental libraries, a general library, and resource centres dedicated to Christian studies and women's studies. The J. X. Miller Library is distinguished by its Open Access System and unique collections on Human Rights, Environmental Studies, International Studies, Interfaith Relations, Competitive Exams, and Current Affairs.
