The Madras Institute of Fashion Technology is situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and was founded in 2000. The institute has partnerships with numerous universities because it provides a variety of full-time, part-time, and distance learning courses. University of Madras, Algappa University (Karaikudi), Tamilnadu Open University (Chennai), Bharathiar University (Coimbatore), and Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (Tirunelveli) have all recognised the courses that this institute offers.
The Madras Institute of Fashion Technology provides full-time, part-time, and distance learning options for its diploma, BSc, M.Sc., and MBA programmes. The institute also provides certificate programmes in a number of specialisations.

- Merit in the qualifying exam is the basis for admission to both PG and UG courses.
- Applicants for diploma programmes must have completed an HSC or a Tamil Nadu Open University preparatory programme (TNOU).

Madras Institute of Fashion Technology M.Sc. and MBA Part Time Course Admission
Three specialisations are available for two-year MBA and M.Sc. programmes at Madras Institute of Fashion Technology. The courses are available via distance learning or part-time enrollment.
Visual Communications and Costume Design and Fashion M.Sc. programmes are connected to Bharathiar University. The University of Madras is associated with the remaining MBA and M.Sc. programmes.
While graduation from any discipline is the minimum requirement for admission to the MBA programme, candidates applying for the M.Sc. programme must have passed the B.Sc. or its equivalent in the relevant discipline.

- You can pick up the prospectus and application forms in person at MFT by making a cash or demand draft payment.
- By going to the official website, applicants can also download the application.
- A crossed demand draft for INR 500 must be sent with the completed application form.
- Prospects who live outside of the area can request the prospectus and application by mailing a crossed demand draft.
- The forms, along with the demand draft, will be sent by the Institute via postal mail upon receipt of the request.
- Application fees: INR 600 (for candidates from outlying areas by DD) and INR 500 (by cash or DD).
