Mahendra Engineering College (MEC) was founded in 1995 by Shri M.G. Bharath Kumar and is an authorised autonomous institution. There is a connection to Anna University. Along with MBA and MCA programmes, it provides 14 undergraduate and 9 postgraduate courses in various engineering fields, including mechanical, CSE, EE, and ECE.

B.E./B.Tech admissions are made through TNEA counselling. Admission to M.E programmes is available to those who meet TANCET requirements or who hold GATE qualifying credentials.

Students who pass either TANCET are allowed admission to the MBA and MCA programmes.

An independent school connected to Anna University is called Mahendra Engineering College. The college abides by Anna University's admissions requirements.

Aspiring students can currently pursue B.E/B.Tech, M.E, MBA, and MCA programmes at Mahendra Engineering College. Entry-level admissions apply to all offered degree programmes.

B.E./B.Tech admissions are made through TNEA counselling. Only those students who completed their HSC in Tamil Nadu would be eligible for admission.

Admission to M.E programmes is available to those who meet TANCET requirements or who hold GATE qualifying credentials. Students who have at least 50% in a relevant B.E. or B.Tech programme are qualified. TANCA is accepting applications.

Students who meet the TANCET or MAT requirements are allowed admission to MBA programmes. Admission to the programme will be granted to candidates who meet the minimum requirements of a 50% bachelor's degree in any discipline. Applications are accepted via the MBA counselling programme at TANCA.

Admission to MCA programmes is also available to candidates who meet TANCET requirements. They can only be considered if they received a 50% in mathematics as a required subject during their graduation.

For the 2018–19 academic year, over 150 companies hired 1550 students. There were 2685 offers made in all.
