The Madras Medical Mission established the Christian Minority Institution known as Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences in 2002. It consists of the Medical College and the Nursing College. Due to the college's complete affiliation with Pondicherry University, MCI has granted it approval for full recognition of the MBBS degree awarded by that institution.

MBBS Admission:

With a small annual student intake, the college offers an MBBS Course at the Undergraduate Level as well as 20 Postgraduate Courses in Different Specializations. According to the eligibility requirements listed below, admissions to various courses are subject to change:

10+2 with 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (45% for SC/ST aspirants) and a passing score on the CBSE-conducted National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) are requirements for MBBS.

An applicant for a PG degree must have an MBBS from an accredited institution and a qualifying score on the National Board of Education's NEET PG exam (NBE).

PIMS Pondicherry Admission:

A multi-specialty hospital and educational facility, the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is located in Kalapet, India's Union Territory of Puducherry. The PIMS is a division of the Madras Medical Mission, a nonprofit organisation supported by the Malankara Orthodox Christian community and responsible for managing Chennai's renowned MMM hospital.

The institute offers MBBS and MD programmes at the undergraduate and graduate levels, respectively. The institute also offers nursing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
