    On September 29, 2003, the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India established the Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences University in accordance with section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act 1956.

    • The Pravara Medical Trust, the university's parent company, was established in 1972 in the Indian state of Maharashtra's Loni, in the Ahmednagar district.
    • VitthalraoVikhepatil, who started the co-operative movement in India, established the trust.
    • Pravara Medical Trust began offering primary and secondary medical care in the year 1976. Additionally, a 100-bed hospital was established.
    • The hospital expanded over the course of a few days, going from 100 beds to 800 beds with multidisciplinary amenities.

    Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) was founded on September 29, 2003 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Indian Government. Six colleges are affiliated with the university.

    The university provides students who want to pursue careers in medical science with a variety of courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and research levels.

    • All courses at Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences have an offline application option.
    • Selection for UG programmes is based on the university's PIMS-AICET-ASUG exam.
    • Candidates are also chosen for MBBS and BDS on the basis of the NEET UG entrance exam.
    • The university's PIMS-AICET-ASPG is the basis for admission to PG programmes.
    • Candidates are also chosen for MD, MS on the basis of the NEET PG and NEET MDS entrance exams, respectively.

    Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS Admission:

    Aspiring candidates can earn an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) or BDS (Bachelor of Dental Science) degree from Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in 4.5 years or 5 years, respectively. An additional year-long internship programme is part of the MBBS degree.

    Candidates must take the NEET UG entrance examination in order to apply for admission to MBBS and BDS programmes. Passing the 10+2 exam with at least 50% in PCB subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English is the minimum requirement for admission to the MBBS and BDS programmes.

    The university's AICET entrance exam is another factor in admission decisions. For the general category, a candidate must receive a minimum of 50%, while for the backward classes, a candidate must receive a minimum of 40%.

    Candidate belonging to general category must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) examination.

    NEET UG

    Note: Candidates from underrepresented groups must have earned at least 40% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined on the HSC (or equivalent) exam.

    Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences MD & MS Admission:

    Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), and Master of Dental Science (MDS) degrees are all available through PIMS Collage in a variety of specialisations. Each course is available for three years.

    Candidates must take the NEET PG exam in order to apply for admission to the MD and MS programmes at PIMS. NEET MDS is used to determine admission to MDS. Candidates for Medical Postgraduate programmes must have earned an MBBS or BDS degree that is recognised by MCI or DCI.

    The university also uses the AICET entrance exam as a basis for admission, with a minimum passing score of 50%.

    Key Points:

    • Candidates who have finished the required one-year rotatory internship or who are expected to finish it before April 30 are eligible to take the AICET.
    • Candidates who have completed or will complete their Medical PG Diploma by March 31 of the applicable academic year are eligible to apply.
    • A permanent registration with MCI/DCI or any state council is a requirement for the position.
