    The institute provides an MBA programme, an MCA, and postgraduate degrees in M.E. with six specialisations.

    Applicants for an M.E. should have earned at least 50% (45% for those in the reserved category) in their Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in the appropriate field, including mathematics, at the 10+2 level. Their GATE score needs to be authentic. Candidates for an MBA must hold a bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum of 50% (45% for those in reserved categories).

    A valid TANCET score is a requirement for admission to any postgraduate programme. Interested candidates should register for Anna University's counselling services. The candidates' admission exam scores will determine who gets in.

    Library: SMIT's major library occupies 990 square metres and is housed in a separate building. 48303 books, 10996 titles, 3374 CD-ROMs, 96 National Journals, 95 International Journals, Internet browsing capabilities, lending, reference, and reprographic services, as well as study rooms that can accommodate 150 students, are all part of the library's collection. The library has plenty of desktop computers with access to e-books and e-journals, and it is completely automated with AUTOLIB software.
