Tagore Engineering College - [TEC], Chennai
Situated in Nungambakkam, Chennai, Tagore Engineering College (TEC) is an independent engineering institution. The college was founded in 2004 and is currently associated with Anna University. It provides a range of undergraduate and graduate programmes in management and engineering.
Currently, Tagore Engineering College (TEC) provides an MBA programme, an MCA programme, five M.E. courses, and seven BE courses. Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering are among the disciplines offered under BE courses. Applied Electronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Power Electronics, and Environmental Engineering are the five ME specialisations.
- Candidates for the BE programme must complete a 10+2 in science with PCM as a required subject.
- Candidates for ME must hold a graduate degree in a related or related field.
- A graduate degree in any field is required of MBA candidates.
- Candidates for M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees must hold a postgraduate degree in the pertinent field.
- Candidates must apply through TNEA exclusively in order to be considered for B.E. programmes.
- Candidates with an MBA or ME can apply via TANCET.
- Fees may be paid online with a credit/debit card or through net-banking; offline, they may be paid with a demand draft or cash deposit.
- Selection of applicants for ME programmes is done through TANCET counselling.
- TNEA counselling is used to choose BE candidates.
- The marks earned in the TANCET are used to select MBA candidates.
- Candidates who are not TNEA or TANCET are chosen based on their performance in the consortium-hosted CET.
- Reservation is granted based on guidelines established by the Tamil Nadu State Government and the Supreme Court of India.

Tagore Engineering College PG Admission
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in the relevant field or an equivalent in order to be considered for admission to postgraduate programmes. Candidates for Ph.D. and M.Sc. (by research) degrees must hold a postgraduate degree in the pertinent field.
- Candidates for ME and MBA programmes are chosen based on TANCE counselling.
- Candidates ineligible to apply via TANCET are chosen via a CET administered by the association of independently funded colleges.

On the TANCET website, application forms for TANCET can be completed online. The application form for the institute-level CET is available at the admission cell of the institute. The application fee may be paid with a demand draft, credit/debit card, or net-banking.
- GATE results may be taken into account for ME candidates.
- In order to be admitted, non-TANCET candidates must pass the consortium level CET.
- Candidates for the M.Sc. (by research) and Ph.D. programmes are exempt from taking the entrance exam. Merit is the determining factor in selection.
Tagore Engineering College Application Process
- The candidate must first use their personal information to register for TNEA.
- The candidate can fill out the online application form after their registration is approved.
- Online payment is available for the TNEA application fee (INR 500 for general candidates and INR 250 for reserved candidates).
- The completed application form should be printed out for use in future correspondence.
- The printed application form must be sent to "Secretary, TNEA, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025" along with photocopies of the student's transcripts.
The TNEA application form must be submitted with the following documents:

- XII Std. Mark sheet or Diploma (3 years) Certificate
- Qualifying degree Certificate
- Provisional Certificate
- Mark sheet Of all semesters or consolidated mark sheet
- TANCET Call Letter
- Transfer Certificate from the institution last studied
- Valid GATE score card for (Engineering/Technology) category
- Valid GATE score card and TANCET Hall Ticket for GATE (Engineering Science XE/Life Science XL) category
- TANCET Hall Ticket, TANCET Mark Sheet
- Permanent Community Certificate in card or in electronic form for BC / BCM, MBC / DNC & SC / SCA / ST contenders of Tamil Nadu
- Certificate from District Medical Board for Differently Able candidates (if Applicable)
- Nativity Certificate only in electronic form/ digitally signed e-Certificate. (if Applicable)
- Copy of identification certificate obtained from the Head Quarters Tahsidar or Visa, Passport and letter registered in Police Station (For Srilankan Refugee candidates)
