The Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM), one of the first independent institutions in Madurai, was founded in 1962. The School has been granted autonomous status by the UGC and is affiliated with Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU). TSM is also in the running to be accredited by the ACBSP and has been ranked among the top 100 management schools by NIRF 2023. TSM offers PGDM and MBA programs with a two-year residency that are affiliated with UGC. Admissions to TSM's flagship management programs are determined by scores on all-India exams like the CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, or GMAT, or by selection by the state government based on TANCET results. In addition to these, TSM Madurai offers Faculty Development Programs (FDP) and Management Development Programs (MDP) for working professionals.
