The NORCET exam eligibility is set by AIIMS, and candidates should meet the following criteria in order to be eligible for the exam. It comprises three categories, namely general eligibility, educational eligibility, and special eligibility. These are mentioned in detail below.

General Eligibility

  • Candidates must be citizens of India.
  • They should meet the age requirement of 18 to 30 years as of the application closing date.
  • Age relaxations apply for reserved categories as per government norms (e.g., up to 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and additional relaxations for PwBD and Ex-Servicemen).

Educational Eligibility

  • Applicants must have one of the following qualifications from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council:
    • B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing
    • Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing
    • Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with at least two years of experience in a minimum 50-bed hospital.
  • All candidates must be registered as Nurses and Midwives with the State Nursing Council or the Indian Nursing Council.
