IIM Ahmedabad is accepting admission for MBA, PhD and BPGP(BA & AI) programs for the Academic year 2026. The admission is done on the basis of entrance tests. This year the CAT 2025 exam was held on 30th November 2025, and its result will be declared tentatively in the last week of December. After the declaration of the CAT result, the admission process will start for IIM Ahmedabad. The core program of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad is the two-year MBA or the postgraduate program. For admission to this course, candidates have to clear the CAT entrance exam. 

Those candidates who are shortlisted will then appear for an analytical writing test and a personal interview. IIM Ahmedabad maintains a two-stage selection process. In the first stage, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their CAT score and academic records. In the second stage, shortlisted students are called for the next round like AWT and PI. In the selection procedure, the CAT score holds 40% weight in the first stage and 60% weight in the final choice round.

Admission process for IIM Ahmedabad MBA courses for the 2026 academic cycle has now begun through the CAT entrance exam, and the last date to submit the application form for the entrance exam is 20 September 2025. IIM Ahmedabadprovides its flagship MBA course at a total course cost of INR 26.5 lakhs for the 2026 batch. For admission to the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, students need to clear the CAT entrance exam, clear AWT and PI, etc. The admission process for the MBA consists of the following phases:

• CAT 2025 Registration: The candidates have to register for the CAT 2025 exam and choose IIM Ahmedabad as one of their choices when they are filling out the application form.

• CAT 2025 Exam: The candidates have to appear for the CAT 2025 and try to achieve a minimum cutoff score that is acceptable to Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

• Shortlisting for AWT and PI: On the basis of their CAT scores and previous academic record, shortlisted candidates shall be called to appear for the Analytical Writing Test and Personal Interview rounds.

• Merit List and Waitlist Announcement: The final selection list shall be released, keeping in view the candidate's cumulative performance in CAT, AWT, PI, academic records and applicable work experience.

• Issuance of Offer Letter: The chosen candidates will be sent an official offer letter that should be accepted within the stipulated period to verify their admission.

IIM Ahmedabad Selection Criteria 2026

IIM Ahmedabad has different management programs with varying eligibility and selection processes. The most prestigious PGP has a requirement for a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks and 45% for SC/ST/OBC, and selection is done through CAT scores, the Analytical Writing Test, a personal interview, and application rating. The PGP-FABM is designed specifically for applicants from agricultural sciences with the same selection criteria. 

The e-PGP requires a UG degree and 3 years of work experience. The MBA-PGPX is for experienced professionals with 4+ years' experience and calls for GMAT/GRE scores. PhD candidates require a master's degree and qualifying exam scores. Executive programs have different criteria depending on the course.

IIM Ahmedabad Courses 2026

IIM Ahmedabad has a variety of academic courses in different categories. In postgraduate programs, it offers MBA, MBA in Food and Agribusiness Management, MBA for Executives (MBA-PGPX), and MBA-BPGP. It has a PhD program at the doctoral level. Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad also offers certificate and diploma courses like ePGD-ABD, Faculty Development Program and Armed Forces Program.

IIM Ahmedabad Fees Structure 2026

IIM Ahmedabad provides courses at the postgraduate, doctorate and postgraduate certificate levels, with a total of 9 courses on offer. They are the PG Program, PGPM, PGPX, FDP, ePGD, MBA and EPGP. Course fees at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in 2026 are between INR 1.2 lakhs and INR 34.15 lakhs, while fees for postgraduate courses are between INR 1.38 lakhs and INR 34.15 lakhs.

IIM Ahmedabad CAT 2024 cutoff for general category students is the 80th percentile overall and the 70th percentile in every section. But to be sure of selection, candidates usually have to score more than the 99.5th percentile. Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad admission for the 2026 session is on the basis of the CAT 2025 score, along with an analytical writing test and a personal interview. As IIMs do not officially declare cutoff scores, candidates will have to log in to their accounts to see them.

But according to the 2026 placement report for the MBA-PGPX, the highest domestic salary paid was INR 76.50 LPA with an average offer of INR 37.25 LPA and a median of INR 34.41 LPA.
