Step 1- Appear for CAT 

Candidates must take the Common Admission Test and score well in all three sections in order to qualify for the test.

Step 2- Apply to IIM Bangalore 

While filling the CAT form, select IIM Bangalore as one of the preferred institutes.

Step 3- Shortlisting of the candidates

Based on academic records, CAT score, work experience, and gender diversity, candidates are shortlisted and called for further rounds. 

Note- Gender diversity means the equal representation of different genders. IIM B takes into account the gender ratio while calling students for further rounds.

Step 4- Written Ability Test and Personal Interview

In this round the shortlisted candidates will have to write a short essay on a given topic and then the candidates will be called to attend a face-to-face interview with the IIM Bangalore panel.

Step 6- Final Selection 

Final scores are calculated using the CAT score, WAT, PI, academics, work experience, and diversity factors.

Step 7- Offer of Admission 

Selected candidates will receive admission offers, and they will have to confirm their seat by paying the required fee.

IIM Bangalore Selection Criteria 2026

The eligibility criteria for students looking to apply for Indian Institute of Management Bangalore management courses then they should fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria. 

MBA (PGP – Post Graduate Programme in Management)

• Educational Qualification- Graduate degree with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA and 45 percent for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

IIM Bangalore Weightage Criteria 2026
