JEE Mains 2026 Exam Day Instructions: Check Documents Required, Things to Carry and Avoid Here
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination Mains Session 1 from 21st January 2026 to 29th January 2026 in two shifts, which are morning and evening. It is mandatory for candidates appearing for the JEE Mains entrance exam 2026 to follow the instructions released by the NTA to avoid any mistakes on the day of the examination. Additionally, candidates must have all the required documents with them, such as the admit card, a valid photo ID card, and more. Documents Required for the JEE Mains 2026 Examination
On or before the day of examination, candidates must check all the documents required to carry for the JEE Mains 2026 Examination, as without the documents, an applicant will not be permitted to enter the examination hall. Aspirants can check the list of documents below, as mentioned on their respective admit cards.
- A clear coloured printout of the JEE Mains Admit Card downloaded from the official website of NTA.
- Candidates must have at least 2 passport-size photographs, one pasted on the application form and another on the attendance sheet at the examination centre.
- A valid ID proof like an Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID, PAN card or driving licence.
- PwD/PwBD certificate (If applicable)
Things to Avoid for the JEE Mains 2026 Examination
The items provided below are strictly prohibited in the examination centre for the JEE Mains entrance exam 2026. The list of items to avoid is given below.
- Geometry Box Set
- Pencils
- Erasers
- Colour pencils or crayons.
- Watercolours
- Handbag or Purse,
- Food Items
- Mobile phone, earphones, microphone, pager,
- Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables
- Camera
- Tape Recorder
- Any kind of watch, including Electronic Watches with calculator facilities
- Any metallic item or electronic gadget
Instructions for the JEE Mains 2026 Examination
Candidates must keep in mind to follow all the instructions on the day of examination. The instructions released by NTA for the JEE Mains 2026 exam are as follows.
- Candidates must check all the details, like the date of examination, shifts, timings of the test, exam centre, reporting time and gate closing time on the admit card.
- Students must visit the exam centre in advance to check the location as well as the venue to arrive on time. After the gate closing time, candidates will not be allowed to enter.
- Candidates must check that their Aadhar biometric authentication is not locked on the day of the examination.
- Candidates must fill in the required details on the attendance sheet in their handwriting and then put their signature.
- For the B.Arch. Drawing Test – Part III, candidates must bring their own geometry box set, pencil, eraser, and coloured pencils or crayons.
- Candidates are not allowed to use watercolours on the drawing sheet.
- Also, the duly filled-in admit card and blank paper sheet must be dropped in the dropbox before leaving the examination centre.
