CDS 2 Result 2025: Cutoff, Counseling Process & Important Dates


The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is expected to release the CDS 2 result on 1 October 2025*. The results will be declared on the official website of UPSC. Candidates who appeared in the examination can check their respective qualification status by checking their name/roll number on the merit list released by the UPSC. Qualified candidates will get to participate in the next stage of the selection process.

The examination is scheduled to be conducted on 14 September 2025. Before this, the CDS 1 was conducted, in which more than 8 thousand candidates qualified for the next step of the selection process, where they will be interviewed by the SSB. If they clear the interview as well, candidates will get admission to defense academies like IMA, INA, OTA, etc. So they will be trained to serve the defense forces of our nation.

CDS 2 Result 2025

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is expected to announce the results for the Combined Defense Services (CDS) 2 examination on 1 October 2025*. Candidates who participated in the exam can check their qualification status by visiting the official UPSC website, where the merit list will be made available. To find out if they have successfully qualified, candidates should look for their names or roll numbers on this list. Those who qualify will have the opportunity to proceed to the next phase of the selection process.

How to Check CDS 2 Results 2025? 

The CDS 2 result for 2025 will be released in the form of a merit list. Candidates need to download the list consisting of the roll numbers of the qualified candidates to check their qualification status. Follow these easy steps to check the CDS (2) 2025 results online and download them: 

Step 1. Visit the official website at upsconline.nic.in.

Step 2. Go to the result tab of the website

Step 3. Click on the “CDS (2) 2025 results” option.

Step 4. Press on “CTRL F” and enter the candidate’s roll number to check if they qualified for the CDS 2 examination.

Step 5. Download and print the scorecard for the further selection process.

What’s Next after the Results

After the declaration of the CDS 2 result, qualified candidates need to register on the official recruiting directorate website to be invited for the SSB interview. This is a 5-day-long interviewing process where candidates are evaluated on the basis of their performance in various rounds of the interview. This includes screening tests, group discussions, group tasks, personal interviews, and panel evaluations of the candidates. 

Candidates who clear the interview will be considered for admission into the top defense academies of the country, including the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Officer Training Academy (OTA). They will be trained to join the army, navy, and air force of the nation. 

CDS 2 Counseling Process 2025

There is no such counseling process in the CDS 2 examination. Candidates who clear the exam, SSB interview, and medical examination are offered admission to the Indian defense academies. Afterwards, when the whole selection process is completed, the UPSC will release a final merit list. All the candidates who secured their place on the merit list are eligible to take admission in OTA, INA, IMA, etc.

CDS 2 Result 2025 Release Date

The CDS (2) 2025 results are expected to be released online on 1 October 2025*. The UPSC will release the results on its official website after the completion of the examination on 14 September 2025. Candidates appearing in the examination would need to visit the official website and search the list of candidates who qualified for CDS (2) 2025.
