Delhi Technological University: Course, Admission 2026, Eligibility, Fees, Placements
Delhi Technological University is also known as Delhi College of engineering established in 1941, Shahbad Daulatpur, Delhi, under the Delhi Government of NCT of Delhi by Act 6 of 2009. DTU offers a huge educational range of programs at 21 undergraduate, 37 postgraduate and 16 doctoral level programs. Major offerings include Undergraduate in Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts (Economics), Postgraduate in Master of Technology, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science, Master of Arts Master of Design and Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) across engineering, management, science and humanities departments.
DTU admissions for the 2026-27 academic sessions are provided through national-level entrance examinations and centralized counselling processes. UG admissions are mainly done through entrance examinations, including CUET-UG, UCEED and JEE Main. JEE Main 2026 registration for Session 1 is closed and registration for Session 2 is expected to begin on January 31, 2026 or in the first week of February 2026. while PG admissions are through GATE, CAT and CUET-PG. GATE 2026 exams are scheduled for February 7, 8, 14 and 15. The CUET-PG 2026 last date has been extended to January 20, 2026 with exams tentatively set for March or CAT 2025 exam was officially conducted on November 30, 2025 and results were declared on December 24, 2025. Ph.D. admissions for the January and July 2026 sessions are admission through DTU entrance tests and interviews with exemptions for UGC-NET/JRF qualified candidates.
Delhi Technological University fee structure for undergraduate courses like B.Tech and B.Des, the yearly tuition fee is about INR 2.47 LPA. Courses like BBA and BA (Hons.) Economics has a lower fee of around INR 1.17 LPA per year. For postgraduate courses, the M.Tech fee is about INR 1.27 LPA per year, the MBA fee is around INR 2.37 LPA per year and for Executive MBA fee is INR 3.01 LPA per year. The PhD fee is comparatively low, around INR 32,000 per year.

Delhi Technological University Admission 2026
Delhi Technological University (DTU) admission for the 2026 academic session is primarily entrance-based, and the application process at the university will begin in May 2026. DTU follows a simple admission process for its UG, PG and Phd programs. For Bachelor of Technology, admission is through JEE Main, for M.Tech, through GATE and for MBA, through CAT or GMAT. Other courses like B.Des, BBA, BA Hons Economics, M.Sc and PhD follow their respective entrance exams such as UCEED, CUET-UG, CUET-PG or university-level tests.
The admission process of DTU includes registration, entrance exam, document verification and counselling. Once candidates are shortlisted based on score and other criteria, seats are allotted based on exam score, rank and availability of seats. This process ensures that only eligible and deserving candidates get admission.
Delhi Technological University UG Admission 2026
Delhi Technological University UG admission is done through national level entrance examinations including JEE Mains, CUET UG, CEED etc. Candidates must have a valid entrance exam score as per the cutoff released by DTU or counselling authorities. For B.Tech admission, candidates must appear in JEE Main and qualify the exam and take part in JAC Delhi counselling for final seat allotment. Students applying for BBA need to apply through CUET UG scores on the official website. Similarly for the BA and BDes courses, CUET and CEED scores are mandatory. To fill out the university application form, an INR 1500 amount needs to be paid. After the successful application, the university reviews and calls for admission according to the cutoff marks released by the university or the counselling body. Once the candidate is qualified on all scales, the further admission process like payment of admission fee, seat locking etc process will take place.
Delhi Technological University PG Admission 2026
Delhi Technological University PG Admission 2026 for courses like Mtech the admission process will start in May 2026. GATE scores are required in order to fill out the admission form at DTU. MBA program admission is based on CAT and MAT scores for the recent year. The application form fee is INR 1500 for all PG courses offered at DTU. Candidates will be selected on the basis of the merit list released by the university and qualified students need to pay the required admission fee to lock the seat. The MA course the online registration will start in June 2026. For MA, CUET PG scores are accepted. The university will release the merit list after evaluating the entrance exam score and marks in UG degree.
Delhi Technological University PhD Admission 2026
For PhD admission at DTU, candidates need to qualify for the entrance test which is conducted by the respective department. The entrance test duration will be 90 minutes, which will contain 60 MCQs. This entrance exam is CBT-based which is organized at DTU campus. Candidates who have already qualified for the NET exam shall be waived for the university entrance test. Candidates applying for a part time PhD course and having a valid JRF score are also exempted from the entrance test. Selected candidates will be called for the interview at the campus. Candidates who are exempted from the entrance exam need to obtain 50% marks in the interview for admission, while 5% relaxation will be given to reserved category candidates. The application process will be completely online and the application fee is the same as the UG and PG course i.e., INR 1500. If a candidate wishes to apply separately for different departments, one has to pay an additional fee.

B.Tech Program
- Academic Qualification: Candidates must pass Class 12 with at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM)and 55% for OBC-NCL/ Defence categories, 50% for SC, ST/ PwD categories. Additionally all candidates must have passed in English.
- Entrance Exam: Valid JEE Main 2026 score is required.
- Counselling: Admission is done through JAC Delhi counselling.
- Seat Quota: 85% seats are reserved for Delhi region candidates and 15% seats for outside Delhi candidates.
B.Des (Bachelor of Design) Program
- Academic Qualification: 10+2 from any stream with minimum 50% to 55% marks and 45% for SC/ST categories.

DTU offers a variety of postgraduate programs with different eligibility criteria. For DTU PG admissions include M.Tech through GATE and CCMT and MBA through CAT or MAT followed by interview. M.Sc through CUET-PG.
M.Tech Program
- Academic Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in a relevant stream with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA for General/OBC and 55% for SC/ST.

MBA Program

- Work Experience: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional work experience after graduation is required.
- Selection: full-time programs entrance exams like CAT/MAT may not be mandatory and selection is often based on academic merit, work experience and a Personal Interview.
M.Sc Program
- Academic Qualification: B.Sc or B.Sc Hons in a relevant subject with 55% to 60% marks and 5% relaxation for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Delhi Technological University Undergraduate Counselling Process
B.Tech/B.Arch – JAC Delhi: DTU B.Tech and B.Arch admissions are done through JAC Delhi. It is a common online counselling process for Delhi government colleges.
Steps of Applying:
- Online Registration: Students must register on the JAC Delhi website using their JEE Main application number. A registration fee is paid online.
- Choice Filling: Students select their selected branches and colleges.
- Seat Allotment: Seats are given based on JEE Main rank, category and region quota. 85% seats are for Delhi region and 15% for outside Delhi.
- Seat Acceptance: Selected students must pay the seat acceptance fees.
- Document Verification: Students must visit the allotted college for document checking.

Delhi Technological University Postgraduate Counselling Process
PG admissions at DTU are done through DTU portals or special committees.
M.Tech : DTU M.Tech admissions are done through GATE. It is a common online counselling process for Delhi government colleges.

M.Sc and Other PG Courses: Admission is based on CUET PG 2026 score result. Students must register on DTU portal after CUET results. The last date has been extended to January 20, 2026. Seats are given based on merit list. Selected students must report to DTU and pay fees.

Delhi Technological University M.Tech

Delhi Technological University Fee Structure 2026
Delhi Technological University provides undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programs with a clear and structured fee system. For UG programs like B.Tech, B.Tech Lateral Entry, B.Des, BBA and B.A. Economics (Hons.) the annual fee includes tuition and other charges such as student welfare, facilities, examination fee, medical insurance and a one-time alumni fee with engineering. Design courses have higher fees than arts and commerce courses and a gradual increase each year.
The PG programs include M.Tech, MBA, M.Des, M.Sc and M.A. Economics where M.Tech and science courses have average and lower fees. While MBA, Executive MBA and M.Des have higher fees and most programs see a small increase in the next academic year. The PhD programs have the lowest fees with different charges for DTU staff. Other candidates reduced fees in later years annual medical insurance charges and a one time alumni fee, making them affordable for research scholars. Delhi Technological University Postgraduate Programs Fees 2026
Delhi Technological University offers many master's level programs in engineering, management, design, science and research. The master programs include M.Tech (Full Time, Part Time and Research), MBA and Executive MBA, Master of Design (M.Des) and M.Sc / M.A. (Economics). The DTU fee structure for master's programs includes tuition fee and other charges like student welfare, facilities, examination fee, medical insurance and a one-time alumni fee. The M.Tech programs in full time and part-time have an annual fee of about INR 1.26 LPA in AY 2025–26 which increases slightly to INR 1.27 LPA in AY 2026–27. The M.Tech by Research program has a lower fee of around INR 1.01 LPA per year.
The MBA programs (MBA, MBA-IEV and MBA-Business Analytics) have higher fees. The Delhi Technological University MBA fee is about INR 2.37 LPA in AY 2025–26 and increases to INR 2.46 LPA in AY 2026–27. The Executive MBA (EMBA) has the highest fee starting from about INR 3.01 LPA and going up to INR 3.06 LPA in the next year and is mainly for working professionals. The Master of Design program has a fee similar to MBA programs with a total fee of about INR 2.37 LPA in AY 2025–26 and INR 2.46 LPA in AY 2026–27. Delhi Technological University PhD Programs Fees 2026
Delhi Technological University offers PhD programs in different disciplines for full time and part time scholars. The PhD fee structure is simple and lower compared to other programs. The fee includes tuition fee, student welfare charges, examination fee, medical insurance and a one-time alumni association fee. For DTU staff and project staff the fee in the year of admission is about INR 18,000. In the following years the fee is reduced to around INR 8,000 per year. For other full time and part time PhD candidates the fee in the year of admission is about INR 32,000. In the subsequent years the fee is around INR 15,000 per year. All PhD scholars must pay medical insurance charges of INR 700 every year. A one time alumni association fee of INR 1,000 is charged in the first year only.

Delhi Technological University Hostel & Other Charges
DTU started its campus hostel facilities in 1995 with Type IV flats for boys and in 1996 with Type V flats for girls. These hostels were first made for students from outside Delhi and for Delhi students who live far from the campus. Later Sir C.V. Raman Hostel for boys was started in 1997. After that more hostels were added. These include Sir M. Visvesvaraya, Sir J.C. Bose, Varahmihira, Bhaskaracharya, Homi Jehangir Bhabha, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam (AC) and Aryabhatta hostels for boys and Sister Nivedita, Kalpana Chawla and Virangana Lakshmibai hostels for girls.
At present time DTU has hostel capacity for about 1,700 boys and 800 girls. DTU hostels provide many basic facilities such as air conditioning (only in V.L.B and APJ hostels), solar water geysers, TV with cable connection, washing machines, indoor games like table tennis, carom, and chess, a badminton court, gymnasium, reading room and LAN facility.

- Application and Identity: Printout of 2026 application form fee payment receipt and a valid government ID Aadhaar or PAN.
- Entrance Exam Scorecard: JEE Main 2026 for B.Tech, UCEED 2026 for B.Des and CUET-UG 2026 for BBA/B.Sc.

DTU placement process is managed by the Training and Placement Cell. this cell helps candidates get jobs in top companies.
- Student Registration: Final year students register on the DTU placement portal and fill up the personal and academic details.
