IIM Indore PGP 2026-28 Admission Criteria Released: Check Latest Selection Process, Eligibility, CAT Cutoffs and Interview Details

IIM‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Indore has released the admission regulations for its two-year Postgraduate Programme (PGP) 2026- 28 batch. The selection will be done in three stages and will take into account the candidate’s CAT Exam 2025 score, academic record, work experience, and performance in the personal interview (PI).

Firstly, the candidates must take the CAT 2025 and must score both the sectional and overall cut-offs to be considered for admission. The minimum overall cut-off for the General and EWS categories is 90th percentile, with not less than 80th percentile in each section. The NC-OBC candidates are required to have an overall 80th percentile. The overall cut-offs for SC, ST, and PwD categories are 60, 45, and 45 percentiles, ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌respectively.

IIM Indore Shortlisting and Interview Details

IIM Indore considers CAT sectional scores as the most crucial parameter for shortlisting candidates. Here are the details for the shortlisting process:

  • 12th‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ class marks will have a weightage of 25%.
  • Marks of the 10th class will have a weightage of 10%.
  • The scores in different sections of the CAT will comprise 55% of the shortlisting score.
  • Work experience will have a weightage of 3%.
  • The diversity factor adds 7 extra points.

Shortlisted candidates based on these criteria will be informed about the interviews in January ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌2026. The majority of interviews will be conducted in person and will be held in the following cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Nevertheless, depending on circumstances, interviews might be held ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌online.

IIM Indore Final Selection Process

The final selection is done based on the CAT scores, personal interview, class 10th and 12th marks and diversity. Here are some basic points given below for the final selection process:

  • Personal‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Interview is the most significant factor, which alone accounts for 45% of the final selection.

  • The final score is composed of the sectional scores of CAT, contributing 40%.

  • Marks obtained in Class 10 add 5% to the score, while Marks obtained in Class 12 also add 5%.

  • Candidates are allowed to score an additional 5 points for diversity.

  • IIM Indore has made it clear that merely achieving the cut-offs or meeting the basic eligibility will not result in an interview call.

  • Moreover, candidates are required to attain the minimum performance level in each PI parameter, failing which they will be ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌disqualified.

IIM Indore Admission 2026: Reserved Categories and Special Guidelines

IIM‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Indore follows the reservation rules set by the Government of India, which include: 27% seats for NC-OBC, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, EWS up to 10%, and PwD candidates 5%. But any candidate from any category should be able to achieve at least the minimum required performance. If the marks of Class 10 or 12 students have been affected by the COVID-19 evaluation method, the weightage of those marks will be changed and divided between their CAT sectional scores and the available marks. The institute has also declared that the admission process will be changed if there are any alterations in government policies or institutional ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌guidelines.
