IIT Mandi Admissions 2026: Applications Open for EVs, AI, Optics Short-Term Courses
The IIT Mandi has introduced a new range of Short-Term Certificate Courses for the winter break 2025. These courses will be held on the campus by the Centre for Continuing Education from the second week of December. The programs are open to students, faculty, researchers, and professionals from anywhere in India and are planned to begin in December. The main objective of these courses is skill development through practical training. In an advanced lab, participants will receive guidance from veteran faculty and will be given real-life problem-solving assignments for an immersive, application-led learning experience.
The head of CCE has also observed that these programs are designed to close the gap between classroom education and industry requirements by imparting practical training, which is strictly application-oriented, in those areas which not only constitute the future but also the technology and research of tomorrow. He has thus motivated students, scholars, and professionals to take advantage of this opportunity during their winter vacation.
IIT Mandi Admissions 2026: Statistical Data Analytics & Deep Learning
The Winter School on “Statistical Data Analytics & Deep Learning” is going to be held in hybrid mode from 2 to 11 January 2026. Registration will be available from 20 December 2025, and the last date for fee submission will be 30 December 2025.
IIT Mandi participants may either attend offline or online, and their registration fee will be INR 5,000. An online participant from a different location (a foreign national, too) will have to pay INR 8,000 or USD 200. An offline participant from another institution will be charged INR 16,000, and a working professional attending the program offline will be required to pay INR 24,000. The registration fee varies for different types of participants. There is also boarding and lodging included in all the offline fee slabs, making the program a complete residential learning experience.
IIT Mandi Admissions 2026: Other Courses
The CCE has offered two other short-term focused programs as well to offer students with the high-demand, industry-aligned domains, such as:
- Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Course: This course will include fundamental concepts of electric mobility, vehicle architecture, hybrid systems, battery technologies, and, additionally, performing live demonstrations.
- Advanced Optical Diagnostic Techniques: The course extensively covers state-of-the-art optical devices, laser-based diagnostic methods, and the use of spectroscopy-based measurements in scientific research.
