Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT Mumbai) is an autonomous institute of Mumbai for chemical engineering and technology. It was founded on 1 Oct 1933 and was earlier known as the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT). Over time, it became an independent institute and was granted deemed university status by the Government of India.
Institute of Chemical Technology or also known as ICT Mumbai, is approved by AICTE and UGC and has been awarded an A++ grade by NAAC for its excellent education and research. The institute has its campus in 3 cities, including Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, and Marathwada Jalna, offering bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD programs in subjects like chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, polymer technology, food engineering, and biotechnology. Students at IOC are admitted through competitive exams like MHT-CET, JEE Main, GATE, GPAT, and GAT-B.
Located in Matunga, Mumbai, ICT has advanced research labs and strong connections with industries. In 2025, the institute saw a high placement record with about 90% of students placed in high-paying, reputable companies. The highest placement package was INR 18 LPA, and the average of INR 7 LPA.

According to ICT Mumbai Fee structure, the above-mentioned expenses do not include the hostel and mess fee of the institute. Students will pay the hostel (dormitory) fee separately from the tuition fee.
Institute of Chemical Technology Hostel fee is 16,555 INR for triple sharing. For double sharing, the fee is 17,501 INR annually. Hostel development fee and electricity fee are included in the accommodation fee.

ICT Mumbai Cutoff
Students should have to gain ICT cut-off marks in either JEE Main or MH-CET. However, the Institute of Chemical Technology MHT CET cutoff may vary for different category students. Last year, the cut-off score was below than expected due to the fewer number of students appearing in the exam. UDCT cut-off 2025 is expected to be tough as the JEE Main exam is scheduled in 4 different sessions.
