    • Management Development Institute has opened applications for 2-year full time PGP 2026-28 batch in Gurgaon and MDI-Murshidabad which includes PGDM, PGDM-HRM, PGDM-IB and PGDM-Business Analytics programs. Students who have cleared the CAT 2025 entrance exam are eligible to take admission in these programs.     Management Development Institute Admission 2026

    Management Development Institute is accepting applications for all PGDM online programs for the 2025-26 academic year. Those candidates who are interested in applying for admission can go to the MDI admission portal. The application form is available till the last date of 31st December 2025 on the institute's official website. To take admission in these programs, candidates have to complete a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates are required to pay an application fee of INR 3,000 including 18% GST and for NRI applicants, INR 8,496, including 18% GST.

    The admissions in the Management Development Institute are based on the CAT entrance exam, while for NRI candidates, MDI accept GMAT entrance exam scores.

    Management Development Institute PG Admission 2026

    Management Development Institute offers several popular postgraduate programmes to students in the field of business management. The main ones include Post Graduate Diploma in Management, PGDM-HRM (Human Resource Management), and PGDM-IB (International Business). To get admission into one of these programs the candidates must first appear for the Common Aptitude Test exam while Foreign and NRI applicants can apply through GMAT. After the exam, students will have to fill out the online application form by visiting the MDI’s website. The institute shortlists candidates for the next rounds based on their test scores and then they are invited for group discussion and personal interview followed by a written ability test.     Management Development Institute Eligibility Criteria 2026

    Management Development Institute requires a graduate degree with at least 50% marks for admission into its post-graduate programmes in management. Below are the detailed eligibility criteria for various courses. 


    PGDM (General, HRM, Business Analytics, International Business)

    • The students must score at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both class X and XII.
    • Bachelor's Degree from a government-recognised university
    • Candidates who are going to appear in the final examination for the Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent examination) can also apply.
    • Applicants to the PGDM-IB programme must have a minimum of one year of work experience as on 31st January 2025, after completion of a minimum 4-year Bachelor’s degree for the programme. 
    • The candidates who have a 3-year bachelor's degree are NOT ELIGIBLE for the PGDM-IB Programme.

    PGDM – Public Policy and Management (PPM)

    The programme is open to officers of All India Services, Central Services, faculty members of State Administrative Training Institutes and also officers of the State Civil Services/Non-State Civil Services, subject to the following eligibility conditions:

    • Officers should have completed 5 years of Group ‘A’ service as on the commencement of the programme
    • The officers must have at least three years of service remaining after the completion of the programme.
    • The officers should not have undergone a training Programme of 12 weeks or more duration in India during a period of 5 years preceding the date of commencement of this Programme. 

    PGDM- BM

    • The Applicants must have 50 per cent marks or equivalent CGPA in both class 10 and 12.
    • The Applicants must have a minimum 3-year graduate Degree, with at least 50 per cent marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any University.
    • A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification executive work experience as on 31st March 2025.

    PGDM-BA

    • The students must have scored 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both class 10 and 12.
    • The students must have a minimum of a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from any University recognised by the Government of India
    • A minimum of post-qualification executive work experience of 3 years as on April 30, 2025.

    FPM (Fellow Programme in Management)

    • A postgraduate degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks (with first division) or equivalent grade point average recognised by AICTE /AIU with a Bachelor degree / equivalent qualification after completing higher secondary schooling OR
    • Five-year integrated Master Degree Programme in any discipline with at least 60% marks (with first division) or equivalent OR
    • A minimum of 50 per cent marks in 10th, 12th, and Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent CGPA along with a Master’s degree with 60 per cent (with first division) OR
    • A graduate degree with a professional qualification like CA/ICWA/CS with at least 60 per cent marks or equivalent grade point average.

    Management Development Institute Admission Process 2026

    Management Development Institute follows a simple admission process starting with the candidates applying online after taking the CAT or GMAT. Shortlisted students are invited for a group discussion and personal interview after which a written test is taken. Final selection of the students is based on academic record, scores and performance in the interview rounds.


    Steps for Admission into PGDM, PGDM-HRM, PGDM-IB, PGDM-BA and Executive Programs

    Step 1: Appear for the Entrance Test: Students who want to take admission will have to take the CAT exam for Indian nationals and the GMAT for foreign/NRI candidates. 

    Step 2: Apply Online: After giving the test, they have to visit MDI’s official website and fill out the application form, then upload the necessary documents and pay the application fee.

    Step 3: Wait for Shortlisting: MDI, after receiving all the applications will shortlist the candidates based on CAT/GMAT scores. The shortlisted candidates will then be invited for the next round.

    Step 4: Participate in Selection Rounds: Shortlisted candidates will have to attend the Personal Interview,  Group Discussion,  and Written Ability Test. These rounds will evaluate candidates analytical thinking, communication and personality.

    Note: For executive programmes, there will be only a PI round. 

    Step 5: Final Selection: The MDI will prepare a merit list considering the test score, GD-PI-WAT performance, academic background, and work experience (if any).

    Step 6: Receive Admission Offer: Once selected they will get an offer letter from the Management Development Institute. Students will have to confirm the seat by paying the admission fee within the given deadline.

    Steps for Fellowship Program in Management

    Step 1: Candidates are required to take Standard Tests like CAT/ GMAT/GRE/ UGC-JRF/GATE

    Step 2: The shortlisted candidates will then be called for an interview either online or offline at MDI Gurgaon.

    Note: For full-time two-year PGP alumni from MDI Gurgaon, IIMs, XLRI & FMS, standard test scores may be waived off.

    Management Development Institute Cut-off 

    Management Development Institute has a high CAT cut-off every year for PGDM, PGDM-HRM, PGDM-IB programmes etc, courses. The cut-off is usually around 94 to 95 percentile and this applies to all categories including General, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS. For the year 2025, the expected cut-off is 95 percentile for all major programmes and MDI does not have reservation-based cut-offs, so all applicants are considered under the same criteria.
