In 2001, the PES Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (PESIMSR) was established by Dr. M.R. Doreswamy with the vision to provide modern medical education and healthcare to rural populations. The college is recognized by the National Medical Council (NMC) and approved by the Government of India, affiliated with Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences. PESIMSR holds strong rankings, including 23rd in Andhra Pradesh state, 66th in the open management category, and 142nd for NRI/OCI admissions. Admissions begin every August through the NEET exam for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. 

PESIMSR offers a 4.5-year MBBS program plus one year of internship, with 150 seats available. Students need to fulfil the basic eligibility criteria for MBBS requires passing 12th class with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English at 50% marks along with qualifying NEET. The college also provides various B.Sc. allied health science courses, such as Medical Lab Technology, Anaesthesia Technology, and Cardiac Technology, each lasting four years, including a mandatory internship. Students don't need NEET UG entrance exam scores, they just need to have a 10+2 science or relevant diplomas for B.Sc. Those who want to study higher studies, like MD and MS courses, take 3 years to complete. The NEET PG entrance exam scores are required to get admission in PG medical courses. The annual fee structure is categorized into A, B, and C categories, which are referred to as Competent Authority Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota , respectively. Fee structure is approximately INR 3,00,000 to 14,00,000 plus GST,for MBBS and INR 2,04,760 to 10,57,600 for PG courses. Which are categorized in clinical, pre and para clinical courses.

CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY

In order to be considered for admission to the 5-year 6 months Full-time MBBS Program, applicants must meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.

Academic requirement:

The candidate must have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English from a recognized board.

Entrance Exam:

As permitted by MCI, the applicant must have achieved success in the Common Entrance Test.

A minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology/Biotechnology on the 10+2 exam is required to be admitted to this programme. The selection criterion is based on the NEET UG (National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test) score.

PES Institute of Medical Sciences and Research provides MD and MS courses in a variety of specializations.
