The PSSOU admissions depend on the academic scores of the students. The university conducts admissions twice a year, in January and July. Applicants can submit their application form for the courses offered at the university by the last date of 31st December 2025(Tentative).

The courses offered at Pt Sundarlal Sharma Open University are available at the undergraduate to graduate degree level, with various diploma and certificate level courses. The annual fee for the courses at PSSOU is in the range of INR 4,300 to INR 28,500; the fee may vary as per the specialisation.

PSSOU UG Admission 2026

The July batch undergraduate admission at PSSOU begins for the BA, B.Sc, B.Com (Hons), BBA (Hons) and B.Lib courses. Students can complete their application before the deadline is 31st December 2025(Tentative). The selection procedure of the university for undergraduate admission depends on the students’ performance in the qualifying exam. 

The Pt Sundarlal Sharma Open University undergraduate courses range from a program duration of 1 year to 3 years. Candidates applying for the UG course must complete their 10+2 in relevant subjects from a recognised board. 

The Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.Lib.) and B.Ed courses require a bachelor’s degree in any subject. The PSSOU undergraduate course fee for the 2026 academic session is between INR 4,300 to INR 27,800.

The courses offered at the postgraduate level are MA (Sanskrit, Sociology, Political Science, English, Mathematics, Chhattisgarhi and Hindi), M.Sc in Mathematics, M.Com, MSW, MBA, and M.Sc in Computer Science within the course duration of 2 years.

The annual fee for the July academic session is between INR 72,00 and INR 11,350. Applicants are selected based on the marks received in their previous qualifications. For admission to the PG program, a relevant bachelor's degree is the major requirement in the relevant subject. 

PSSOU PhD Admission 2026

PSSOU PhD admissions are entrance-based, which means students are selected based on UGC NET exam results, State Eligibility Test (SET) scores or the university entrance exam scores. 

• Candidates are required to score a minimum of 50% in the entrance exam. The PSSOU PhD programs are available in Social Work, Hindi, Management, Psychology, among others. 
• Students with a one-year master’s degree or a 2-year master's degree after a 4-year bachelor's degree or a 3-year bachelor's degree, respectively, with a minimum qualifying score of 55%, are eligible for admission at Pt Sundarlal Sharma Open University.
• The PhD course duration at the university is 3 to 6 years, depending on the coursework and the research. The application fee for the PhD program is INR 1,000. 
• The six-month payable fee during the research work for the PhD program is in the approximate range of INR 7,000 to INR 8,500 as per the course type (Practical or Non-Practical).

PSSOU Eligibility Criteria 2026

• UG Programs:
• Applicants should complete the 12th standard from a recognised board.
• PG Programs:
• A bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject is a necessary eligibility requirement for the postgraduate degree courses.
• Diploma, Certificate:
• Candidates must pass 10+2 in any subject to pursue the diploma degree course, and for the PG, diploma course, a graduation degree is the compulsory requirement in the relevant subject.
• For the Certificate in Goods and Services Tax (CGST) program, students must have completed their graduation with the commerce background.
• PhD:
• Students must hold a 1 or 2-year master's degree with a minimum of 55% in the relevant subject after the completion of a 3 or 4-year bachelor’s degree.
• Additionally, students are also required to clear the UGC NET exam or the university’s entrance exam with a minimum passing mark of 50% as a part of the mandatory requirement.
