Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) was inaugurated by the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) in Mumbai in 1981. Initially started with just 40 students and 4 faculty members offering a two-year master's programme in management, NMIMS has grown into a prestigious, that offers various programs on various campuses in India. Now, NMIMS has campuses in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Indore, Shirpur, and Chandigarh, and continues to be a leading private university in India.
It is a Deemed-to-be-University under the UGC Act and is accredited with NAAC Grade 'A+'.This university is also approved by AICTE, which is known for its exceptional education over the years. The admission process typically starts in January every year, which includes an entrance exam like NPAT for undergraduate programs and NMAT for MBA, and for other programs like this university also conducts course-wise entrance exams, followed by a personal interview or group discussion for selected programs.
NMIMS offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes across various disciplines such as Engineering & Technology, Management, Science, Commerce, Law, Architecture & Design, and Liberal Arts. Some of the popular courses include BTech (Data Science), BBA, MBA, and BBA in Family Business. Candidates who have completed class 12 with 50 % of marks are eligible for the registration process, and for PG programs, students need to have a UG degree from a recognized university. The PG course fees for the various courses generally range between INR 9 Lakh to INR 13 Lakh per annum (depending on the courses), while for UG courses, the fee is comparatively low and ranges from INR 6 Lakh to INR 9 Lakh annually.
