TS SET SYLLABUS 2025

The TS SET exam syllabus is divided based on two sections that come in the exam (paper I and II). Paper I is common for all candidates regardless of the subject chosen by them. It evaluates the candidate’s teaching and research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, and general awareness. 

Paper II is subject-specific and covers in-depth knowledge of the chosen subject, such as geography, chemical sciences, commerce, computer science, economics, education, english, life sciences, mathematical sciences, physical sciences, and more. Paper II carries more marks as compared to paper I.

Preparation Tips For The TS SET 2025 Exam

Students who will be preparing for the TS SET exam this year must follow the tips given below to score well in their exam:

  • Get familiar with the exam syllabus and pattern. 
  • Maintain consistent study hours, at least 2–3 hours daily for preparation. Dedicate more time to Paper 2, as it carries more marks. Set daily and weekly targets for topic completion.
  • Refer to standard books for daily practice (UGC NET books for paper 1, subject-specific books for paper 2) 
  • Regularly solve previous years’ question papers and take mock tests to understand question trends and improve time management.
  • Make short notes for quick revision and revise concepts and formulas daily.
  • Focus on Weak Areas: Identify and spend extra time on the weaker topics. 
  • During the final week before the exam, avoid picking up new subjects. Focus on revision and practicing mocks.
  • Time Management: Practice solving Paper 1 (50 questions in 1 hour) and manage time efficiently in Paper 2. Attempt easy questions first and skip tough ones to return to later.
  • For the general knowledge questions in paper I, read daily news and stay updated on monthly current affairs.
  • Get enough sleep before the exam, take breaks during study sessions, and keep calm to maintain focus on exam day.
