NTA will release the results of the exam after the commencement of the exam and the release of the answer key, most probably on February 2026 (tentatively). Candidates who qualify for JRF will receive a certificate that will be valid for 3 years, while Assistant Professor eligibility remains valid for life. Additionally, the final answer key, subject-wise cut-offs, and category-wise statistics will be released alongside the result. It’s important to save a copy of the scorecard for future needs. 

To qualify, candidates need a minimum aggregate of 40% (General category) and 35% (Reserved categories) across both papers. Additionally, subject-wise and category-wise cut-off marks will be published alongside the results.

• Enter your Application Number, Date of Birth, and Security PIN.
• Click Submit to see your result

UGC NET Topper’s List 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the UGC NET exam, does not officially release a topper’s list or rank-wise merit list for any session. Unlike other competitive exams, UGC NET results are declared in the form of scorecards and qualifying status only. No official rankings or names of top scorers are published by the NTA on its website.

Despite this, some private coaching centres and learning platforms make their own “topper lists” using on self-reported marks from their students.

Following the announcement of the UGC NET 2025 results are declared, those who pass the exam for Assistant Professor eligibility can apply to become teachers in universities and colleges in India. Candidates eligible for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) can opt for funded Ph.D. programs or pursue research projects with stipend every month. Many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and government bodies use scores from UGC NET to recruit them into research and policy roles. Candidates are advised to download their e-certificates through NTA portal and stay updated on Ph.D. admissions and job openings in their subject area.
