CG SET Exam 2025: Exam Date, Admit Card, Pattern, Syllabus


The application process for CG SET will begin in the 4th week of July 2025. A correction window for it will be available in the first week of August, allowing candidates to make final adjustments to their applications. CG SET Admit Card will be issued a few days before the exam date, which is scheduled to be held in the month of October 2025. The results of it are expected to be declared in November 2025. The application fee for the exam is INR 700 for candidates who are not residents of Chhattisgarh, and students who are permanent residents of Chhattisgarh are exempt from paying the application fee. 

The Candidates who want to give the CG SET 2025 must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in their chosen subject from a recognized university with at least 55% marks (or 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Transgender categories). There is no upper age limit, and the final-year postgraduate candidates or those who are awaiting results can also apply provisionally.

CG SET Exam 2025

The CG SET exam 2025 is an important examination conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CGPEB) to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in various universities and colleges of Chhattisgarh. This state-level test consists of two papers: Paper I is based on general teaching and research aptitude, and Paper II is based on the candidate’s chosen subject. CG SET Admit Card 2025

The CG SET Admit Card 2025 is mandatory for the candidates to carry it to the examination centre. It is expected to be released in October 2025, a few days before the exam date, and will be available for download on the official CG Vyapam website (vyapam.cgstate.gov.in). Candidates should log in by using their registration number and password to access the admit card. It is advised to download and take a printout of it to avoid last-minute issues.

The CG SET admit card download date will be declared once the application forms are released. It contains several important details that candidates must verify carefully. These include the candidate’s name, roll number, registration number, photograph, signature, exam date and time, exam centre name and address, reporting time, duration of the exam, category, and important exam-day instructions. Any discrepancies found by the candidates should be reported immediately to the exam authorities for correction. Candidates must also carry a valid photo ID (like Aadhaar card, voter ID, or passport) along with he hard copy of the admit card to the exam centre. CG SET Answer Key 2025

The CG SET Answer Key 2025 is released by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board shortly after the exam, allowing candidates to cross-check their responses and estimate their scores before the official results are declared. The answer key for the 2025 exam will be made public a few days after the exam is held in October 2025

The answer key includes the correct answers for both Paper I and Paper II across all subjects. Candidates can download the answer key by visiting the official CG Vyapam website. If a candidate finds any discrepancy, they can raise objections within the specified window by paying a nominal fee per question. CG SET Result 2025

The CG SET Result 2025 will be officially declared in November 2025 by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CGPEB) on its official website. The CG SET exam is tentatively scheduled to be held in October 2025, and it also consists of the final answer key, cut-off marks, and individual scorecards for both Paper I and Paper II. 

Candidates can access their results by logging in with their registered mobile number and password. Those who will meet the minimum qualifying marks and category-wise cut-off will be considered eligible for the positions of Assistant Professor in Chhattisgarh’s colleges and universities. 

CG SET Counselling and Seat Allotment Process 

The Chhattisgarh State Eligibility Test (CG SET) is conducted to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor positions in universities and colleges across Chhattisgarh. The CG SET is not a direct admission test, and candidates who qualify become eligible for recruitment into the position of Assistant Professor or further academic opportunities.

CG Counselling & Seat Allotment Process

Step 1: Online Registration Candidates should register on the official counselling portal of the Directorate of Technical Education, Chhattisgarh (CGDTE). 

Step 2: Candidates will have to select their preferred colleges and courses. It’s advised to fill in as many choices as possible to improve the chances of allotment.

Step 3: Candidates must verify their documents at designated centres or upload them online, depending on the course.

Step 4: Seat Allotment will be based on merit, category, preferences, and seat availability. The allotment result it will be published online, and candidates can download their provisional allotment letter.

Step 5: Candidates will have to report to the allotted college within the given time frame with original documents and pay the admission fees to confirm their seat.

Step 6: If seats remain vacant, further rounds of counselling will be conducted. Candidates who didn’t get a seat or wish to upgrade can participate again in this counselling process.

CG SET Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

The CG SET question paper consists of 50 questions from paper I and 100 questions from paper II. The exam is of 300 marks with no negative marking and a candidate is given 2 marks for every correct answer. The exam is of total 3 hours duration with paper I of 1 hour and papr II of hours. CG SET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to give the exam should meet the following eligibility criteria.

General Eligibility

  • To appear for the CG SET 2025, candidates must be Indian citizens
  • There is no upper age limit.

Educational Eligibility

  • Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent from a UGC-recognised university in the subject they wish to appear for. 
  • The minimum marks required are:
    • 55% for the General (UR) category
    • 50% for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PWD/Transgender candidates
  • Final-year postgraduate students or those awaiting results are also eligible to apply provisionally, but they must complete their degree with the required percentage within two years from the date of the result declaration.

Special Eligibility

  • PhD holders who completed their doctorate before 19th September 1991 are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks.
  • Candidates must choose a subject for Paper II that matches their postgraduate specialization. If the exact subject is not listed, they may opt for a closely related one.
  • Reservation benefits (such as fee concessions and seat allotment) are available only to Chhattisgarh-domiciled candidates, as per state government norms.

CG SET Application Form 2025
