CAT Result 2025: The result for CAT exam 2025 will be released on 19, 20 December 2025 (tentative). The CAT 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on 30 November 2025. The exam will be held in the computer-based-test (CBT) mode for a duration of 2 hours. Students can check their respective scores by entering their user IDs and passwords on the official website. The CAT 2025 result will comprise the personal details of the student, information related to the exam, registration number, exam date and time, and scores (section-wise and overall).

The national-level entrance exam is conducted online to assess student's candidature for admission into IIMs and top business schools for MBA and PGDM programs. After results are announced, candidates can log in to iimcat.ac.in to download their scorecard. The CAT 2025 scorecard includes key information such as candidate name, DOB, gender, category, and contact details. Cutoffs for admissions will follow shortly, determined by the exam’s difficulty level, total applicants, reservation rules, and available seats.

How to Check CAT Result 2025?

The CAT Result 2025 will only be made available online to view and download on the IIM CAT official website. Students need to log in with their respective credentials to gain access to the scorecard. Here’s a step wise procedure for students to download their results, once available.

Step 1: Navigate to the ‘Registered Candidate Login’ column on the official website. @iimcat.ac.in. 

Step 2: Once logged in, the link to download the CAT 2025 scorecard will be displayed on the screen.

Step 3: Click on the link and download the scorecard. 

CAT 2025 Result Validity

The CAT 2025 exam is scheduled on 30 November 2025, and the results for the exam will be announced on 6 January 2026. However, all the students appearing for the CAT 2025 exam must note that the scorecards will be valid only for a year following the official announcement of the result. Hence, the validity of the CAT 2025 scorecard will be till 26 December 2026. Candidates can download their scorecards from the official website of IIM CAT once the results are announced. CAT 2025 scorecards are vital for admissions to the top business schools and IIMs. 

CAT Cutoff 2025

Once the results are out on 6 January 2026 (tentative), students can expect the CAT cutoff 2025 to be released soon enough. The CAT cutoffs keep changing every year, depending on the total number of students who appeared in the exam, the difficulty of the exam, seat availability, and reservations. However, students can expect the CAT 2025 cutoffs for the top IIMs, such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, and IIM Bangalore, to be 99+ percentile. The cutoffs for each IIM will be released specifically for admissions to their MBA/PGDM programs. It will vary as per the categorial reservations and campus.

What’s Next after the CAT Result 2025?

After the CAT 2025 results have been declared, shortlisted candidates will have to go through a counselling process. As the CAT results are expected to be released tentatively on 6 January 2025, here’s the roadmap for students to admission:

• For admissions in IIMs, shortlisted candidates will go through a Written Ability Test (WAT). 
• Following the Written Ability Test (WAT) conducted by the IIM, passing candidates will participate in a group discussion round. 
• The selected candidates will further be called upon for a Personal Interview (PI) round. 
• All the scores obtained by the candidates (CAT, WAT, GD, and PI scores) will be calculated cumulatively, and then the final score will be generated. 
• Based on the final scores generated by IIMs, candidates will be informed about their admission status via mail.

CAT Marking Scheme 2025

The CAT 2025 marking scheme has been announced officially, and for each correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 3 marks. For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of -1 for the MCQs. The CAT 2025 exam will be conducted online in CBT format and will comprise three sections for a duration of two hours. Candidates appearing for the CAT 2025 exam will have to solve three sections during this duration, and the type of questions will be MCQ and TITA.
