KSOU Admission 2026

Karnataka State Open University is providing admissions to students in UG, PG and Doctoral programs like BA, B.Sc, M.Sc, MA, BCA, MCA, etc., for the academic year 2026. All the students who are eligible for admission can submit their admission form through the official portal of the university both online and offline by the deadline of 31st December 2025(Tentative) as per the guidelines of UGC:

Students can visit the official website of the university (www.ksoumysuru.ac.in) to fill out the complete application form with payment of a one-time fee that ranges from INR 800 to INR 2,000, depending on the available course. Aspirants who want to take admission must pass the Common Entrance Test conducted by the university for some of the courses under UG, PG, and PhD programs, while others are merit-based with affordable fees ranging from INR 4,900 to INR 33,500.

KSOU UG Admission 2026

KSOU has various undergraduate-level courses such as B.Sc, BCA, BBA, BA and B.Com under specialisations, namely, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Mathematics, Hindi, Urdu, etc. Admissions are merit-based for all the UG level courses except for the B.Ed course, for which students have to clear the entrance exam conducted by the university. The admission process has already started and the last date of the admission form is 31st December 2025(Tentative). The annual fee ranges from INR 8,400 to INR 33,500. The annual fee for B.Ed is INR 33,500.

The university has set some eligibility criteria for admission 2026, which students have to follow. Candidates must complete Class 12 with 50% marks from a recognised board.

For the B.Ed course, candidates with at least 50% marks in either the Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Science/ Social Sciences/ Commerce/ Humanities. Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks, or have completed a NCTE-recognised teacher education program in the online mode.

KSOU PG Admission 2026

Karnataka State Open University offers Postgraduate programs, namely, MA, M.Com, MBA, etc. Admission to the PG courses is merit-based, except for students who do not study a 3-year bachelor's degree with cognate subjects. For such students, the university conducts a common entrance test to be admitted to a PG course. 

Interested students can apply online through the official website of KSOU or offline by reaching the university before the deadline which is 31st December 2025(Tentative). Students have to pay a total annual fee ranging from INR 10,600 to INR 29,900.

KSOU PhD Admission 2026

KSOU offers a PhD in History, Ancient History, Archaeology, Economics, Political Science, Commerce Management, etc. The admission for the PhD course has been closed. Candidates have to pass a common entrance exam conducted by the university, except for the students who have qualified UGC/UGC-CSIR, JRF Test /NET/GATE/GRE/M. Phil. Students who have cleared the entrance exams will have to appear for an interview round. The university offers a Ph.D in both part-time and full-time modes.

KSOU Diploma and Certificate Programs Admission 2026

KSOU offers numerous Diploma and Certificate programs. Students can take admission to these courses based on the records of previous year exams, i.e, Class 12, graduate degree, and postgraduate degree from a recognised board/university.

KSOU Admission Form 2026

Admission forms for all programs have already been released and will be available till the deadline of 31st December 2025(Tentative). Candidates interested in taking admission to their desired courses can fill out the complete application form within the given timeframe with the payment of an application fee ranging from INR 800 to INR 2,000. KSOU Eligibility Criteria 2026

Karnataka State Open University UG Program

• Students must pass Class 12 from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% aggregate.
• Candidates having a minimum of 50% in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science/ Social Sciences/ Commerce/ Humanities, or have scored a 55% aggregate in a Science and Math-focused bachelor's degree in engineering or technology, or have finished an in-person teacher education program approved by the NCTE.

Karnataka State Open University PG Program

• Admission to the postgraduate courses is determined by merit, except for candidates who have not completed a three-year bachelor's degree in related fields. The university administers a common entrance exam for such students. 

Karnataka State Open University PhD Program

• All applicants must pass the university's common entrance exam, except those who have cleared JRF-NET/GATE/GRE/M. Phil, or UGC/ UGC-CSIR exams. Candidates with a valid entrance score are required to participate in the interview round.

KSOU Admission Process 2026

The admission process starts in January for some of the available courses in both online and offline modes. Interested students can follow the steps mentioned below:
