SKCT BTech/BE Admission 2025

Sri Krishna College of Technology offers admission into its undergraduate B.E. and B.Tech programs through TNEA Counselling for regular entry students and direct lateral entry for diploma holders.

1. Regular Entry (TNEA Counselling)

Admission to B.E. and B.Tech programmes at SKCT is primarily offered through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), a centralised counselling process conducted by Anna University. Candidates are selected based on their Class 12 marks with a minimum of 50% (40% for the reserved category) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. No entrance exam is required for this mode of admission.

The process begins with online registration on the official TNEA portal. Candidates must enter their personal and academic details and pay the application fee of INR 500 (for General and OBC candidates) or INR 250 (for SC/ST candidates). Students then attend document verification at a designated TNEA Facilitation Centre, carrying original certificates like mark sheets, transfer certificates, and ID proof.

2. Lateral Entry (Diploma Holders)

Candidates who have completed a 3-year diploma in engineering or technology can apply for direct second-year admission under the lateral entry scheme. These admissions are processed through separate lateral entry counselling or may be directly handled by the institution based on merit.

SKCT BTech/BE Eligibility Criteria 2025

For Regular Entry

For regular entry into the first year of B.E. and B.Tech programmes, candidates must have completed the Class 12 exam in the science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Additionally, applicants must achieve a minimum aggregate of 50% in PCM.

For Lateral Entry Admission

In the case of BTech lateral entry admission, diploma and B.Sc. holders can apply directly to the second year of B.E./B.Tech. programmes. Diploma candidates should have passed a three-year engineering/technology diploma with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved categories) in their final semesters. Alternatively, B.Sc. graduates from UGC-recognised universities, who have studied mathematics at the undergraduate level, can apply provided they secure at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories).

SKCT BTech Entrance Exam 2025

Sri Krishna College of Technology (SKCT) does not conduct any separate entrance exam for admission to its B.E. or B.Tech programmes. The selection process is carried out through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling, which is purely based on the academic performance of candidates in their Class 12 examinations.

  • For TNEA: Admission is based on the aggregate marks scored in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12.
  • JEE Main scores are not mandatory for admission, but may be considered under the management quota or for specific program categories, as per institutional discretion.

Since TNEA is a merit-based process, no entrance test is required at the state or college level for government quota seats. Candidates are advised to participate in the TNEA process and select SKCT as their preferred college during choice filling to be considered for admission.
