Kashmir University admissions are open for most of the majors, such as M.Tech, B.Tech, PhD, diploma and others. The application for the PhD course is done twice a year. For PhD admission to the second cycle, the application process will begin on 1 October 2025.

Kashmir University is taking admissions for undergraduate students for the 2026 session. The last date to apply for the UG admission is 30th November 2025(Tentative). Admissions to the undergraduate course are based on merit or entrance examination scores.

The undergraduate course at the Kashmir University is offered in various subject areas, including History, Business Administration, Technology, Engineering, and Education, among others. The UG course covers a course duration of 2 to 3 years, depending on the area of study.

Admission to the M.Tech and MBA courses is based on the GATE and CMAT exam results. The results have already been declared on 30th May 2025. However, the application form for the Non-GATE candidates is closed.

The Kashmir University offers MA, M.Com, M.Tech, M.Pharm and other PG degrees in different disciplines within the course duration of 2 years.

Kashmir University PhD admissions are conducted twice a year (Cycle I and Cycle II). The admission for Cycle I is now closed. However, for the second cycle, candidates can start their application from 1 October 2025 via the Official Website of the university.

The PhD degree is offered in different study areas covering Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Education, Archaeology, Commerce, Computer Science, Electronics and Instrumentation Technology, Food Science, Nanotechnology, Psychology, Sanskrit, History, among others, within the course duration of 3 to 6 years.

Students with a minimum score range of 50% to 55% in a master’s degree are eligible for admission to the University of Kashmir PhD course.

Moreover, the entrance examination required for the PhD course at the university is UGC- NET/ JRF, CSIR-UGC-NET/ JRF, ICAR-NET, SET, GATE, CEED, GPAT or any other equivalent test by the UGC.

• UG Programs:
• A minimum score of 40% to 50% in Class 12 is required from a recognised board for admission to the undergraduate degree course.
• For the B.Tech degree programs, students must achieve the qualifying rank in the JEE (Main) entrance examination and the admission for the B.Pharm and B.Sc Nursing programs is done by BOPEE.

• GATE entrance examination scores are a necessary admission requirement for the M.Tech degree course at Kashmir University and for the M.Pharm courses, GPAT qualifying marks are considered by the university.
• Diploma/Certificate:
• 10+2 in any discipline is required for the diploma or certificate course with a minimum of 40% to 55% marks.
• For the postgraduate diploma course, a bachelor's degree in any subject is required.
• PhD:
• Applicants applying for the PhD degree must score a minimum of 50% to 55% at the postgraduate level in the relevant subject.
