GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, also known as GIMSR, was founded in 2015 as the first Deemed medical college in the private sector of Andhra Pradesh. GIMSR is the only Medical Institute in Andhra Pradesh with one of the most enticing learning environments, including facility and instructors that encourage students to hone their abilities and become exceptional medical professionals.

GIMSR is renowned for its high-quality Medical Science education and attracts students not just from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, but also from across India. GIMSR offers Medical Science courses for first-year students. The Medical Council of India/National Medical Commission is expected to provide recognition to the institution's courses shortly. GIMSR is a constituent college of GITAM, a Deemed-to-be-University with an A+ grade from NAAC in 2017. The Gitam Institute Of Medical Science & Research now has 600 UG students and is prepared to expand by launching PG programmes in the upcoming academic year.
